Meet Dorothy Parker Penguin

I finally finished the penguin for the Woodland Park Zoo's Penguins on the March project.

I named her Dorothy Parker since she's art deco inspired, glamorous, and possesses a secretive, biting wit.

Here is a picture of the penguin in the initial priming phase.

Read more about the project in Seattle Magazine here.

Dorothy looks great. I especially love the golden beak.

My favorite Dorothy Parker quotation is the following: "If you don't have anything nice to say, come right over here and sit by me."

You should be proud--your work is meticulous-- and the clear coat makes her look like patent leather. SDB

I love that quote! I also always think of the Cole Porter song that goes, "As Dorothy Parker once said, to her boyfriend, 'fare thee well.'
