Help Us Name this Bag

I've redesigned an old favorite - our mini messenger bag style. Help us name this bag by commenting on this entry. We are looking for a woman's name, of course, per our usual naming protocol.

We'd love to hear why you nominate a name. Perhaps you have a favorite friend or relative whose name is meaningful. Or you like the lovely sounds of a proper name and think it suits this bag.

If we choose your nominee, you'll win bragging rights and a tribute on our website when we send "her" into cyberspace for custom orders.

We'll announce the winning name on April 8th so get your ideas in soon.

SHARI - The perfect bag, large enough to carry things to "share" with others. My daughter Shari, known as "the bag lady" to her family (because of her love of bags) would be thrilled to have a bag named after her.

I'm nominating two names! : )

KELLY - The first time I ever went to Laura Bee was March 17, 2005. I went in to find a birthday gift for my friend Kelly that evening, and I bought her a green wristlet for her being born on St Patrick's Day. I've been hooked ever since!

NOMA - My grandmother's name was Noma, and I've always thought it unique and lovely. I've never heard it anywhere else. It seems timeless to me. And that woman loved her bags.

I like Daisymayrobin's idea for Noma!

I have a nomination for the name Louise. Louise is my Mom's name (and my middle name) and even though I am the one that is so into purses, I often have her carry stuff for me in her purse when we're out shopping (so a messenger bag would be good for me to have!). Plus, I just think it would be cool to have a bag named after my Mom because she is so important to me.

My suggestion is Jo named for Jo March in Little Women. Jo was on the go, doing her scribbling in various places and haunting the publishing houses of Boston and New York trying to publish her manuscripts. Also, the real Jo--Louisa May Alcott--volunteered as a nurse in Washington D C in the Civil War and had to trek back and forth from the hospital carrying her possessions. SDB

Aileen- For my Grandma and Sister, they are two of the strongest women I know, and since my sister loves laura bee why not name something she loves after her.

Rosemary.
From the song "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes" by Edison Lighthouse. It's a song about an unconventional girl who can't be tied down...the type of girl who would love a sassy messenger bag to carry around her belongings.

The bag looks very European to me, so I think a name like Racquel or Antonia would work. Hop on the Metro and go!

Matilda - just cuz.

I nominate my two year old niece's name Cecilia because she brings me so much joy just like your bags!

CHARLOTTE-After my niece who shares my absolute love of bags!

My suggestion is Lovely Rita (a dedication to all those hard working meter maids). who definitely would love the bag! Maybe you should design a natty little hat to co-ordinate....

Can I nominate to names too?

MARLO - for Marlo Thomas in "That Girl". That show reminds me of my mother, in the way she styled her hair to the clothes and accessories. She also seemed to have just what we needed (all five of us girls) in her impeccable purses, from mints and gum (which she never ate) to tissues and Band-Aids.

MARY - from the The Mary Tyler Moore show. I think she would have had a bag like this if she were a career woman today on the streets of any urban city. Plus< she was a snazzy dresser!

Nina!
It was my great-grandmother's name and it was the first one to jump into my mind when I saw the picture!

Harriet - for Harriet the Spy, from one of my favorite children's books. I think this would be a great bag to carry spy paraphernalia...or any kind of paraphernalia, for that matter.

Iris - In Greek mythology, Iris is the divine messenger of Hera and Zeus, queen and king of the gods. She bears wings and carries messages to mortals traveling with the speed of wind from one end of the world to the other.

This entry came via snail mail from Kansas...

"Danielle, sophisticated, stylish, and of course necessary for all of us purse loving gals. My daughter-in-law Danielle introduced me to Laura Bee by giving me a gift certificate and I've been hooked ever since. Dani has more than several, but not yet a gross of wonderful bags she has designed with Laura Bee. And even though I live in the great state of Kansas I always make time during my visit to the beautiful northwest to plan time at the studio for "one" more unique purse.
