I've been working on some new ruched designs recently. I love ruching - an heirloom gathering technique - because it adds texture and highlights to rich fabrics. I used a cinnamon dupioni silk on the Luxe Clutch in the photo above, and tucked a teal organza ruffle into the seams.

Ruched looks nice if you're not wearing it on your bum. Some of the ruched dresses in the Spring 2006 Nicole Miller line put some junk in the trunk. However, junk in the handbag is fabulous.
